NOTICE.

When this Declaration has been completed by the Surveyor, it is to be given to the Owner, who is required by Section 273 of the Merchant Shipping Act, 1894, to transmit it to the Board of Trade within fourteen days after the date of its receipt. The same Section provides that they Owner shall forfeit a sum not exceeding ten shillings for every day that the sending of the Declaration is delayed beyond this period of fourteen days.

After the Owner or Agent has signed the above receipt for this Declaration, and has filled in the name of the Port or Mercantile Marine Officer to which he wishes the Certificate to be sent, and the name and address of the person to whom the Certificate is to be delivered on application, he should send the Declaration to The Assistant Secretary, Marine Department, Board of Trade, London, S. W.


When this Declaration has been received at the Board of Trade and is found satisfactory, the Certificate in duplicate will be sent by post to the Mercantile Marine Office named above, at which office the Owner, Agent, or Master named above for that purpose must apply for it and pay the necessary fee, expenses and forfeiture (if any) charged under Sections 276 and 277 of the Merchant Shipping Act, 1894.
