12906. (Senator Fletcher) You testified regarding that iceberg. You said, as I recall, that you saw an iceberg passing on the starboard side?
- Yes; after the collision.
12907. Where were you?
- I was on B deck. I went out from B deck, out to the promenade there.
12908. That was aft?
- No, sir; forward.
12909. You were forward?
- Yes, sir.
12910. On B deck?
- On B deck.
12911. And you saw the iceberg, the iceberg that struck the ship?
- I saw the iceberg going along the starboard side, sir.
12912. Just describe that iceberg, please.
- It looked like a large black object going alongside the ship.
12913. Could you tell us about the size?
- I could not see the top because there was a deck above us.
12914. It was higher than B deck?
- Oh, yes; much higher.
12915. And how close was the side of the ship to it?
- It did not seem very far away.
12916. Could you tell anything about the dimensions of it, as to the length or the width?
- No, sir; I could not. I just saw the object scrape alongside the ship.
12917. Did it come in contact with the side of the ship?
- I do not think so.
Senator Fletcher:
That is all.
