NOTES: 1. - All passengers are to have the use of sufficient space on the upper deck of the vessel, and no deck passengers are to be carried in addition.

2. If any of the space measured for passengers is occupied by cargo, cattle or stores, one passenger is to be deducted from the numbers stated above for every 12 superficial feet so occupied.

3. On any voyage on which this vessel may be cleared as an emigrant ship, the number of passengers is governed by the certificate granted by the emigration officer for that voyage, and not by this certification.

One cannon and twenty-four cartridges or other approved means of making signs of distress.
Twelve rockets or other approved signals for distress.

THIS IS TO CERTIFY that the provisions of the Merchant Shipping Acts relating to the survey of passenger steamers have been complied with, and this vessel is fit to ply as a foreign-going steamer with the number of passengers stated above.

This certificate, unless previously cancelled, remains in force until the 2nd day of April, 1913.

A new certificate will be required before the vessel can ply with passengers from the United Kingdom after that date.

One of these triplicate certificates is to be put up in a conspicuous part of the ship, where it will be visible to every person on board, under a penalty not exceeding TEN POUNDS.

If the number of passengers carried exceeds the number stated on this certificate, the master or owner will be liable to a penalty not exceeding TWENTY POUNDS, and to a further penalty for every passenger beyond the proper number.
